Two former residents, WEST WYOMING grads pass away

Word was received recently that two former West Wyoming residents and graduates of West Wyoming High School passed away within the last year.

Joseph Pawloski, Class of 1939, passed away at his home in Lady Lake on July 21, 2008.

Also, Rita Pisaneschi Milani, Class of 1938 of Park Ridge NJ passed away on June 2, 2009 after falling and breaking her hip.

Special Meeting

West Wyoming Borough Council will conduct a special meeting on Wednesday, July 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Hall, 464 West 8th Street, West Wyoming, to discuss the proposed Ferretti Ponds project.

 

Book Orders

Bob Nardone is accepting orders for the Graduation Picture Book that was produced during the West Wyoming Centennial Celebration.

If anyone is interested in ordering this book please email Bob Nardone at @ westwyo64@verizon.net.

If he receives20 prepaid orders, the book will cost $20 each and can be picked up at the reunion.

If you aren’t attending the reunion and the book needs to be shipped, the cost is $25.

Please notify him as soon as possible, so these books can be produced by the time of the reunion.

Compost

If any residents would like compost for their garden please contact the borough hall at 693-1311.

Bible School

Vacation Bible School at the Wyoming United Methodist Church will be held July 6-10 from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

This year’s theme is "Animal Antics" featuring the camel, lion, donkey, lamb, and dove.

The Bible School concludes with a performance on Friday, July 10, at 6:30 p.m.

The Vacation Bible School, directed by Glenna Pocceschi,is free and open to all children Pre K - grade 6. Pre-registration is encouraged by calling 693-2821

Yard Waste

West Wyoming Borough has begun Yard Waste Pick-up. Pick-ups will be on Thursday. Every other week one-half the town will be collected until the beginning of November.

The schedule will be as follows, July 9, Atherton Section up to 8th Street but NOT including 8th Street. On July 2, 8th Street to the Exeter Line.

This schedule of alternating weeks will continue until November. Residents can call the Borough building to arrange to drop off waste or request the truck be left at their residence for large volume.

Note: Please do not place yard waste in plastic bags.

WA Golf Tourney

The Wyoming Area Football Alumni Association Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, July 18 at Four Season’s Golf Club with a 1:00 p.m. shot gun start. Anyone interested in sponsoring or playing should contact Lou “Bikes” Ciampi at 654-4040.

The cost ofa hole-sponsorship is $100 and to play in the event is $75. This includes golf cart, lunch, dinner and beverages. This is the Wyoming Area Football Alumni Association’s biggest fundraiser and participation is greatly appreciated.
