Pictured are members of the winning team and Kiwanis and Pride representatives: Kiwanis President Megan Kuffa, Pride Mobility Products HR representative Eileen Templeton, Bernard Edmonds, Tom Romasiewicz, Jamie Breshnahan and Kiwanis Race chairperson Matt Crake.

More than $10,000 was raised in this phase of the project. Pride Mobility Corporation spokesperson Eileen Templeton explained, Pride Mobility Products Corporations overjoyed assisting the Kiwanis Club in their goal of helping those with disabilities in such a fun manner as the bed race.

Winners of the race were Wyoming Area student athletes Jamie Bresnahan, Bernard Edmonds, Joe Barush, Ryan Carr and Tom Romasiewicz who completed the 800 foot course in a remarkable 42.95 seconds.

The Kiwanis Club thanks Pride Mobility for its corporate sponsorship of this event along with scores of local residents and businesses who see the value in creating Wyoming Valley’s first complete handicapped accessible playground for children. The Kiwanis Club is still accepting donations which can be sent to Wyoming Area Kiwanis, PO Box. 4052, Wyoming PA 18644.

The Kiwanis club is attempting to raise $95000 to fulfill the dream of Chris and Ken Granahan of Exeter, to have a playground where both of their children, Emma and Mckenna who is afflicted Pallistair-Killian Syndrome, will be able to play together. The Kiwanis club, following the Kiwanis International Mission Statement of a group of individuals dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time, ask for the support of all residents of the Wyoming Valley to join in their goal of fulfilling the dream of the Granahans and all those who face disabilities by making the playground a reality.
