Wyoming Rec board Halloween parade Saturday

The Wyoming Recreation Board will hold their annual Halloween costume parade on Saturday, October 24 at 3:30 p.m. at Butler Street Park. Children 12 years old and younger may participate.

A random prize drawing will follow the parade. Only those children in costume are eligible for the prize drawing.

Perfect Game

Jared Saporito, 14, recently bowled a perfect game at Modern Lanes in Exeter.

He has been a member of the youth bowling league for 10 years. His current bowling average is 181.

Jared is a freshman at Wyoming Area High School and plays on the football and baseball teams. He resides in West Wyoming with his parents, Suzanne and Ray and his older brother, Matt.

Abrahams Creek

The ACWA along with Skelly and Loy Engineering will hold a public meeting on November 16 at 7 p.m. in the West Wyoming Borough Hall.

The event will explain the Abrahams Creek Watershed project and allow for public input and discussion of water related problems in the Abrahams Creek Watershed area.

Fireman’s Relief

The regular meeting of the Wyoming Fireman’s Relief Association will be held on Sunday October 18 at 1:30 p.m. at Wyoming Hose Company #2 on Third Street - President Jospeh Kopko will preside.

Senior Citizens

The Wyoming / West Wyoming Seniors will meet Tuesday, October 20 at Our Lady of Sorrows Hall at 1:30 p.m. with President Frank Perfinski presiding. Halloween will be celebrated with a special menu.

Bingo will be played and the fifty-fifty raffle will be held. Winners from the last meeting were, Regina Spitale, Ann Turon, Dora Kraynak and Betty O’Hara.T he Bingo jackpot winner was Charmaine Potenza. New members are welcome and parking is available.

American Legion

At the October meeting of the American Legion Post 904, the Christmas party was voted on and scheduled by the body. It will be December 13, at Agolinos Restaurant at 3 p.m.

Please contact the Commander or the Christmas party committee for menu’s and response sheets. Chairman, Bob Jones, Ron Semanski and George Yurek.

Additional information will be available at the November 12 meeting.

Class Reunion

The second All Class Reunion for West Wyoming High School graduates was held on September 5 at the site of the former High School now West Wyoming Hose Company #1.

Over 370 people attended the reunion and included the following teachers: Miss Helene Kretchik, Robert Stefanides, Gino Marchetti, Gerald Taroli, Nick Anzelmi, and Joyce Saunders Stocker.

Prizes were given to the graduates who traveled the farthest. They were Almon Case and Lois Speigel, Class of 1940, who flew in from Brea, CA. Another prize was given to the oldest graduate who attended.

She was Ann Heck English, Class of 1938. Everyone enjoyed the time spent together with their former friends and classmates.

Graduates are looking forward to the next reunion hopefully to be held in another 5 years. Anyone who has pictures should send them to Shirley Randazzo VanTassel at 876 Nixon Lane, Port Orange, FL 32129 or email them to her at shirleyww57@hotmail.com.

Basketball Parents

Wyoming Area Boys Basketball Parents Association will meet on Tuesday, October 20 at 7 p.m. in room 129 at the Secondary Center.

All parents of player in grades 7th through 12th are urged to attend. Plans for the upcoming season, plus meet the Warriors are on the agenda.

Football Parents

The Wyoming Area Senior Football Players and Senior Marching Band Members will be honoring their parents prior to the home game on Friday, October 23.

Parents are asked to report to the Football Spirit Stand promptly at 6 pm. The ceremony will begin at approximately 6:15 p.m. Please call Mary Ann Murphy with any questions at 654-3627. Also, please visit our web site at www.wyomingareafootball.org.

Ham Dinner

St Joseph’s Christian Mothers are holding a family style ham dinner in the church hall Sunday October 25 from 12-4 p.m.

Tickets are $8 adults and $4 children 10 and under. Tickets will be sold after Masses at both St. Joseph’s & Our Lady of Sorrows.

Borough Notes

The Borough Office and the Tax Collector have now moved to the Midway Shopping Center with the Police Department. We are located adjacent to Price Chopper.

Our telephone number remains the same 693-0291. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Tax Collector is now only in the office on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
