Antonietta V. Mazzarella

Antonietta Vittoria Villano Mazzarella, 88, of Wyoming, died October 29, 2009 at the Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE surrounded by her family.

Born Feb. 3, 1921 in Pietradefusi, Italy, province of Avellino, she was the daughter of the late Raefaelle and Giuseppina Ciarcia Villano. She came to America in 1940 and became a U.S. Citizen in 1946. She formerly worked at the EM Kay Mfg. Co. After her husband became ill with black lung, she purchased a grocery store which she operated and then converted it to her home-made pasta specialties. Retiring at the age of 80, she continued to work in the store helping her grandson until the time of her death. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles on Dec. 22, 1962, brothers, Leonardo, Antonio, and Vittorio and a sister Carmelina.

Surviving are her daughters, Carmelina Frankosky, Wilmington, DE; Tina Sabatini and her husband Raymond, Wyoming; grandsons John Charles Frankosky and his wife Renee, Landenberg; Kevin Frankosky, Wilmington, DE; Raymond Joseph Sabatini, Drums; and Ronald Sabatini, Wyoming; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Samantha, and Michael Frankosky, Landenberg; Raymond and Georgie Sabatini, Drums; sisters Maria Barletta and Elvira Russo, Italy. .

Funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St.. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Relatives and friends may call Sunday 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
