Arlene M. Williams

Arline M. Williams (nee Parsons), 89, of Trucksville, died March 3, 2010, at Our Lady of Peace Retirement Home in Charlottesville, VA.

She was born December 30, 1920, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter to the late Earl and Ethel Parsons, the eldest daughter of eight children. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Willard, Ralph, Howard, Donald and Earl; and by her sisters, Doris and Gladys. She married Lewis E. Williams on her 19th birthday on December 30, 1939, and together she and Lew enjoyed and shared more than 70 years of marriage. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Dallas.

Her daughter, Arline Anthony, of Plymouth also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, Lew Williams, now residing at Our Lady of Peace Retirement Home; a son, Lewis E. Williams Jr. and his wife, Melanie, of Charlottesville, VA; and six grandchildren; grandchildren Michael Evans and his wife, Gail, of Wilkes-Barre; Lewis E. Williams III, of Newcastle, DE; Susan Kile and her husband, Russ, of Mountain Top; Paula Testa, of Newcastle, DE; Lori Umphred, of Wilkes-Barre, and Chris Evans, of Exeter; 15 great-grandchildren; and three special nieces, Lorraine McCoskey of Kingston; Doris June Jeffries and LuAnn Horsfield, of Trucksville.

The family will share remembrances privately and request memorial gifts that you perform an act of kindness toward someone you know in her name.
