Clara M. Reese

Clara Mary Rakowski Reese, of West Wyoming, died November 8, 2009, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph James Reese, in 1998.

Born in Scranton, a daughter of Leo and Mary Shierka Rakowski, she was educated in the Scranton public schools, and resided in Scranton until 1998. Before retirement, she was employed at Thelro Potato Processing and previously worked at Capitol Records. She was a lifelong member of St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Cathedral, and, in her younger years, a member of many of the church societies.

She was preceded in death by a son, Joseph M., and a brother, Francis Rakowski.

Surviving are daughters Marion C. Taylor, Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Elaine C. Nicholson, Royal Palm Beach, FL; Joan E. Cegelka and husband, John, Dover, NJ; son, Ronald and his wife, Janice, West Wyoming, with whom she resided; and sister, Florence Bauer, Scranton; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Nov. 13 from the Sznyter Funeral Home, Scranton, with Mass in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, Scranton. Interment parish cemetery.
