David J. Hudack

David J. Hudack, age 49, of Wilkes-Barre, died November 3, 2009, at Hospice Community Care, Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Buck Township, he was a son of the former Myrna Shovlin Hudack and the late Joseph Sid Hudack of Buck Township. He was a graduate of James M. Coughlin High School, class of 1978, and was co-owner of Gutter King of Wilkes-Barre. He was a member of Beaumont Free Methodist Church, Buck Township. He was very active in the St. Theresa/South Wilkes-Barre baseball as past President of the Little League from 2002 to 2005 and also served on the board of directors for 11 years. He was instrumental in organizing Interleague Baseball, and was an all-star coach and an assistant coach for Little League. He also was an organizer of tournament leagues for South Wilkes-Barre baseball and helped organized Fall League Baseball. He was a PIAA baseball umpire for 11 years.

Also surviving are his wife, the former Jean Chopack, Wilkes-Barre; daughter Brynn Hudack, at home; sons David Hudack Jr. and his wife, Terra, Plains; Jarrod Hudack and his fianc�e, Bianca Sauceda, Harding; brother Daniel Hudack and his wife, Debbie, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Brendan and Kaylin Hudack; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday from the Corcoran Funeral Home, 20 S. Main St., Plains, with the retired Pastor Robert Evans officiating. Friends may call Sunday, from 2 p.m. until time of service.
