Dorothy Hope Ross, 89 of Wyoming, died November 7, 2009. At the time of her passing, she was under the care of ManorCare Health Services of Kingston.

She was born April 28, 1920, in Moshannon, to Nevin Leroy and Jennie (Lucas) Lewis. On September 20, 1942, she and John L. Ross of Karthaus, were married and moved to Wyoming in 1945. Her husband, John, a retired state policeman, passed away in 1997 after 55 years of marriage. She retired in 1982 after working for the Boston Store and Pomeroy’s for several years. She was a member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, John and his wife, Claudia, Bristol; Jane Gush and her husband, William, State College; William and his wife, Ann, Exeter; Linda, of Hummelstown; Patrick and his wife, Darcy, Wyoming; as well as 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 11 in the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, Wyoming, with the Rev. Gordon Weightman of the Wyoming United Methodist Church officiating. Interment Askey Cemetery, Snowshoe.
