Douglas K. Bowman

Douglas K. Bowman, 52, of Laceyville, died October 20, 2009 at the Hospice Community Care in Dunmore after an illness.

He was born in Meshoppen, on Nov. 8, 1956, a son of Marion Allen Bowman, of RR 2, Laceyville, and the late Donald E. Bowman, who passed away on Oct. 9, 1992. Growing up in Laceyville, he was a graduate of the Wyalusing Valley High School, class of 1974. For more than 11 years, Doug was employed at Penn’s Best Trucking in Meshoppen, where he was employed as a supervisor. He was a SAL member of the Rought Hall Post 510 American Legion in Black Walnut.

He is also survived by his daughter, Angela M. Miller, of Pittston; and his son, Stephen D. Bowman, and his fianc�e, Jennifer C. Hill, of Laceyville; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Hall, of Laceyville, and Bonnie and Keith Brodhun, of Laceyville; his three granddaughters, Joslyn Miller, Breana Miller and Justine Miller, all of Pittston; and two nieces; and three nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Joshua Miller, who passed away on June 7, 2009.

Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville, with the Rev. Mark King of the Birchardville Baptist Church officiating. Interment Spring Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Community Care, 100 William St., Dunmore.
