Edward Rinkavage, 79, formerly of Pittston, died February 4, 2010, at the Birchwood Nursing Center, Nanticoke.
Born in Exeter, December 18, 1930, he was a son of the late John and Nellie Berkant Rinkavage. He graduated from Pittston High School. He served in the Air Force from 1949 to 1969 and was Chief of Quality Control for Air Force One from 1958 to 1969. He was a former member of St. Casimir’s Church, Pittston, and its Holy Name Society. Prior to his retirement, he was a line mechanic at Procter & Gamble.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Rinkavage; and grandson, Thomas Turner, Jr.
Surviving are his son, Edward, Jr., Brambelton; daughter, Theresa Marchel and companion, Jim Konsavage, Plains; brother, John Rinkavage, Marlton, NJ; sister, Rosemary Solos, Tolland, CT; granddaughter, Stephanie Marchel; great-granddaughter, Christina Turner; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday from the Kizis-Lokuta Funeral Home, 134 Church Street, Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, William Street, Pittston. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kingston Township. Friends may call Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
