Ernest Burke, Jr.

Ernest Burke Jr., 43, of Wapwallopen, died October 26, 2009 in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ, he was a son of Ernest Burke Sr., Swoyersville, and Betty Jane Eckrote Davidson, Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a 1984 graduate of Lake-Lehman High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was currently working for the Bridon Corporation in Hanover Township. He was very active in the Mountain Top Little League as a coach and volunteer.

Preceding him in death were his great-grandparents, Wilson and Laura Eckrote; maternal grandfather, Lester Eckrote, and paternal grandmother, Leona Burke.

Also surviving are his wife of 20 years, the former Diane Sheraski; sons Adam, Jared, Jason and Cory, all at home; maternal grandmother, Grace Eckrote, Dorrance; step-parents, Mary Jo Burke, Swoyersville, and Ron Davidson, Myrtle Beach, SC; a brother, Michael, Scranton; and sisters Jodiann Burgit and husband Brian, Shavertown; and Lisa Nevolas, West Wyoming.

Funeral services were Oct. 30 from the McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. Memorial donations may be made to his family.
