Grace Boos

Grace Boos, 88, of Duryea, died December 16, 2009 at Geisinger Hospital, Plains, where she was a patient.

Born in Pittston on April 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Agnes (McHugh) Castner, She was devoted to her Catholic Faith.

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, John, who passed away in 1971; her granddaughter, Kelsey Rae Flanagan, brother, Paul Castner, and her sister, Joan Sibley.

Surviving are her son, John Boos and his wife, Mary Lou, Pittston; daughters, Sharon, and her husband, Fred Melnick, Forty Fort, and Eileen, and her husband, Tom Flanagan, Jenkins Twp; grandchildren, Lisa Staros, Raymond Boos, Christine Wolff, and Mark Melnick; great-grand children, Emily, Jessica, Danny, Julie and RJ; sisters, Rosemary Murray, Avoca; and Agnes Rebelinski, Greenwood; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 715 Hawthorne St., Avoca. Interment St. Mary’s of the Assumption Cemetery, Hughestown. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, 38105. Arrangements by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Duryea. Online condolences may be made to www.kiesingerfuneralservices.com
