Herman J. DeStefano

Herman J. DeStefano, age 81, of McDonough, GA died October 13, 2009.

He was born in Exeter, the son of the late Lauretta Media Tarantino and Anthony DeStefano. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He began his working career with Planters Peanuts (Wilkes Barre) in 1955 in Sales and retired from Nabisco in 1990. He attended St. James Catholic Church.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Virgerene Beard DeStefano; siblings, William, Ross, and Albert Tarantino; Thomas and Antony DeStefano, Mary T. Pancotti, Blanche T. Semenza, and Emma T. Noone; and niece, Margaret Ramirez.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Patricia Ann DeStefano of McDonough, GA; step children, Norma Dunn Brock of Decatur, GA, Deirdre Dunn Guerriero of Shelby, NC and Harold Gene Pope of Hampton, GA; four grandchildren, sister, Rose B. Tarantino Zang of Trenton, MO; nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held locally at a later date. Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
