James T. Franklin, Jr.

James T. Franklin Jr., 69, of Pittston, died October 14, 2009.

Born on March 16, 1940, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late James T. Franklin Sr. and Malfrid Johnsen Franklin. He was raised in Philadelphia and attended Lincoln High School. He was a 1990 graduate of the Community College of Philadelphia, where he received an Associate Degree in General Studies. A United States Navy veteran, he honorably served his country for four years and upon his honorable discharge, he had attained the rank of Seaman 3rd Class. Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was an employee of Montgomery County Community College, Norristown. Previously he was a transportation analyst for the Reading and Pennsylvania Railroads.

He is survived by his son, Jeffrey Franklin, West Pittston; and his daughter, Jennifer Schell, Wyoming; five grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

A Blessing Service will be celebrated on Monday, at 10 a.m. at the Wroblewski Funeral Home, 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort. Entombment Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Family and friends may call on today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
