Jean B. Rudd

Jean Butera Rudd, 79, died October 16, 2009 at the Sunrise Assisted Living home in Paoli after her long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was the daughter of the late Cataldo and Maria Strazzera Butera, and was born in Pittston on October 6, 1930. She graduated from Pittston High School in 1948. After living in New York for several years, she returned to Wyoming in 1971 to raise her family. She retired from the Veteran’s Administration Office in 1995 to travel and spend more time with her grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brothers Peter and Leonard Butera and her sisters Rose Butera, Bessie Giarraputo and Anne Spano.

She is survived by her three sons Franklin Rudd and his wife Cindy of London, England; Kevin Rudd and his wife Nadine of Berwyn; and Howard Rudd and his wife Vanessa of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ; five grandchildren: Kevin, Drew, Samantha, Harrison, and Bray; her two sisters Nina Butera of Wyoming, and Mary Aquilina of New Hope; and her sister-in-law Mary “Mamie” Butera of Wyoming.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Graziano Funeral Home, 700 Township Blvd., Pittston Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. from St. Rocco’s RC Church, Pittston. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. A viewing will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
