Joseph S. Valenti

Joseph Sam Valenti, 45, of Exeter, formerly of Pittston, died unexpectedly on March 6, 2010 in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Pittston on November 24, 1964, he was a son of Sam S. Valenti and Theresa Kossuth Valenti. He was a graduate of Pittston Area High School, Class of 1982; Luzerne County Community College and King’s College where he earned a degree in psychology and a minor in theology. He was employed as maintenance team leader in the Pittston Area School District. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pittston, and a current member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. He was a faithful participant in the annual St. Jude Novena at St. Mary’s Help of Church, Pittston and the St. Joseph Novena at St. Joseph’s Oblates, Pittston.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Salvatore and Rosalie DeFranciso Valenti; and maternal grandparents, William and Anna Miskovic Kossuth.

Surviving are his parents, Sam S. and Theresa Kossuth Valenti; sister, Renee Valenti, all with whom he resided; several aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends.

Funeral services were March 9 from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Interment St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter. Online condolences may be made at www.peterjadoniziofuneralhome.com .
