Josephine Benkoski, 78, of Exeter, died October 22, 2009, at Hospice of the VNA, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, on Jan. 18, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Zelinda Baldoni and stepdaughter of the late John DiLauro. She attended GAR High School and was formerly employed at Rex Shoe Co.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Benkoski; granddaughter, Mykayla Marie Mack; brothers, Savior Baldoni and Louis Baldoni; sisters, Mary Baldoni and Rosey Kratz.

Surviving are sons, Thomas Mack and his wife, Lisa, Wyoming; David Benkoski and his wife, Betsy, Dallas; Kevin Mack and Tracey Syreika, California; daughter, Joann Lukins and her husband, Mark, Greenwood, IN; brothers, Nazareno Baldoni, Wilkes-Barre; Anthony Baldoni, Baltimore, MD; sisters, Phelomenia Tubridy, Wyoming; Esther Paratore, Kingston; Beatrice Bachanas, Folsom; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the VNA, Wilkes-Barre. Arrangements by the Recupero Funeral Home, West Pittston.
