Kathleen N. Hines

Kathleen Nolan Hines, 56, of Pittston, died January 22, 2010, at Moses Taylor Hospital following a brave fight with a brief illness.

Born on October 17, 1953, she was a daughter of Grace Bianco Nolan and the late Robert Nolan. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Avoca, attended Saint Mary’s School in Avoca and Saint John the Evangelist High School in Pittston. She also attended Luzerne County Community College. She traveled throughout the country working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is when she met her husband, Gary Hines. They resided in Kentucky for 11 years before moving back to Northeastern Pennsylvania to be closer to her family in 1986. She was most recently employed as a supervisor of Purina Pet Care at Telerx in Wilkes-Barre.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Gary, at home; daughter, Jessica Hines Regis and her husband, Paul, Frederick, MD; her son, Joseph Hines, Philadelphia; her mother, Grace Bianco Nolan; two sisters, Roberta Nolan Battista and her husband, Kenneth, of Duryea, and Geri Nolan Piemontese and her husband, Sam, of Duryea; a brother, Robert Nolan and his wife, Katy, of Boyertown; her uncle, Tony Bianco of Pittston; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Lampert and her husband, Ed, of Lebanon, TN; and her mother-in-law, Thelma Hines, of Harford, KY; five nieces, Jennifer Battista, of Lemoyne; Brianne Battista, of Scranton; Maria Piemontese, of Philadelphia; Lindsay Nolan, of Boyertown; Hannah Nolan Focht and her husband, Kurt, of Phoenixville; and five nephews, Daniel Piemontese, of Duryea; Bobby Nolan, of Boyertown; Kevin Hupp, of Simpsonville, KY; Kyle Lampert, of Nashville, TN; and Josh Lampert of Richmond, VA.

Funeral services were Jan. 26 from Kiesinger Funeral Services, Duryea, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Avoca. Interment parish cemetery.
