Mae G. Monroe

Mae G. Monroe, 75, formerly of West Pittston, died November 1, 2009, at the Valley Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Plains Township.

Born and raised in West Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Irving and Verna Hoover Monroe. She was a member of the Home League of the Salvation Army, West Pittston. For years, She had worked at the Pittston Hospital and later on as a private housekeeper.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Monroe and Ruth Zurek.

Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Dorothy Belaus, Toms River, NJ; and an aunt, Eleanor Hunter, Harford; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Nov. 4 from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, Exeter. Captain Sheryl Hershey, Corps Officer of the West Pittston Salvation Army, officiated. Interment Pittston Cemetery.
