Mary C. Doran

Mary Catherine Moughan Doran, 83, a lifetime resident of Pittston, died August 16, 2008, at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township.

Born on July 30, 1925, in Pittston, she was the first-born child of the late John and Anna Martin Moughan. She was a graduate of St. John the Evangelist High School, Pittston, and Pittston Hospital School of Nursing. She spent many years dedication to her profession as a nurse while being employed as an RN in Pittston Hospital, Mercy Hospital, Scranton, and Drs. Callahan, Calarusso, McGuire and Argenio, as well as a school nurse at St. John the Evangelist School. She was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Church, its choir and Altar and Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Doran, in June 2001; brother Joseph Moughan and sister Nona Jordan. Surviving is her sister, Anne McArdle, and her husband, Edward, Rahway N.J.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were August 23 from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Interment, parish cemetery.
