Mary L. Buckley

Mary Louise Buckley, 80, of Pittston Township, died November 1, 2009, at home surrounded by her family.

Born on August 17, 1929, in the Cork Lane Section of Pittston Township, she was a daughter of the late Robert Moran and Elizabeth Lillis Moran. She was a life-member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, and a graduate of Pittston Township High School. Prior to retirement, she was secretary to the principal of the Martin L. Mattei Elementary School in the Pittston Area School District. She was a member of the Luzerne County Educational Secretaries Association.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Buckley, in 1960.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Buckley and his wife, Mary Ann, West Pittston, and Joseph Buckley, Boston, Mass.; two granddaughters, Kimberly Ann Buckley, Quakertown, and Christine Buckley, Port Chester, NY; a brother, Robert Moran, West Wyoming; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Nov. 4 from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Online condolences may be made at www.peterjadoniziofuneralhome.com .
