Raymond A. Chodnicki, 77, died October 27, 2009 at Hospice House in Cleveland, OH.
He was born in Pittston, and had lived in Cleveland Heights, OH before moving to Lake County, OH 37 years ago living in Mentor, OH. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Mentor, OH where he was very active as a Eucharistic minister and Perpetual Adoration, usher, coaching St. Mary’s sports, and participated in the Men’s Club.
He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a supervisor for the Department of Taxation for the state of Ohio before his retirement.
After his retirement, he worked as a starter, and helped in the pro-shop and men’s locker room at the Kirtland Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Joanna (Siemiaszko) Chodnicki; and siblings, Ambrose, Joseph, Fr. Francis and John Chodnicki.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years of Catherine (O’Shea) Chodnicki; daughters of Linda J. (Jay) Fox of Concord Township, OH; Sharon F. (Joseph) Luptak of Mentor, OH; Michelle (Bruce) Leiden of North Perry, OH; and JoAnn C. Santo of Mentor, OH; son Gregory A. Chodnicki of Mentor, OH; and daughter Jennifer M. (Ben) Jakuben of Painesville, OH; 14 grandchildren; sisters Wanda Orloski of Duryea; Sabina Krymowski of Parma, OH; and Dorothy Russick of New Castle; brother Richard Chodnicki of Mohegan Lake, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass was held Oct. 30 in St. Mary’s Church, Mentor, OH. Burial All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
