Raynard Cardascia

Raynard “Danny” Cardascia, 85, formerly of Pittston, died February 6, 2010, at a nursing home in Kennsington, MD. His widow is the former Betty Trax from Harding.

Born in Pittston, May 4, 1925, he was the son of the late Dan Cardascia Vera Derenzis Cardascia. He was a graduate of Pittston High School, Class of 1942, he served in the Navy in World War II on an LSM. He attended Lycoming College, and after graduation worked for the Dept. of Commerce in Washington, D.C., most of his adult life in Rockville, MD.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Angeline and infant brother Felix J. Cardascia.

He is survived by a son Daniel, and wife Dawn of Silver Springs, MD; granddaughter Sandy Cregger, and husband, Danny, of Rockville, MD; son James Cardascia, of Mount Airy, MD; a sister Clara Hafferty and husband, John, Pittston; and brother Felix. P. and wife Theresa Ardenti Cardascia, Pittston; many nieces and nephews.

The viewing will be held Feb. 28 at Pumphrys Funeral Home, Rockville, MD with services will be at Church of Christ at Manor Woods, Rockville, MD. Burial Parklawn Cemetery, Rockville, MD on March 1.
