Sandra June (Ash) Howell, 61, formerly of Avoca, died September 23, 2009, in Tampa, FL, after a long, hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her daughters, Wendy Tigue, Pittston; Heather, Port Richey, FL; and Krystal Howell, Tampa, FL; sons, Raymond Howell and Vince Butrymowicz, Tampa, FL; brothers, Robert II and Richard; and sisters Beverly Dormagen, Carol Berry and Judy Luder; along with five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews; and many friends.

A graveside service was held at the Spring Brook Cemetery on Oct. 27, with The Rev. Michael Shambora of the Bethel United Methodist Church, Avoca, conducting graveside services. Arrangements by Kiesinger Funeral Services, Duryea.
