Shelia C. Heffers

Sheila C. Heffers, 70, of Pittston, died October 18, 2009, at home.

Born on July 31, 1939, in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Golden Heffers. She graduated from Pittston Central Catholic High School. For 45 years, she worked in the Human Resources Department at Con-Edison in New York City, moving back to Pittston after her retirement. She was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston, and its Altar & Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Maureen Heffers Lev; and a brother, Jack.

Surviving are two brothers, Joseph and his wife, Kate, Port Griffith; Thomas and his wife, Anita, Swoyersville; a sister-in-law, Stella Heffers, North Carolina; nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

The funeral was Oct. 21 from the Leonard Funeral Home, Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston. Interment parish cemetery.
