Stella T. Pienta

Stella T. Pienta, a lifelong resident of Hopkins Street, Plains Township, died October 26, 2009 at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township, where she had been a resident for several months.

She was born on Oct. 3, 1916 the daughter of Polish immigrants, the late John and Anna Krywicki Bohonko. She was a graduate of Plains Memorial High School, Class of 1935, and had worked mostly in the local sewing factories and as a cocktail/catering waitress. She was an active member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, the Quilters Guild and the pierogi team. She was also a member of the Plains Senior Citizens Organization, Plains American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, April 22, 1962; brother, John Bohonko; and a sister, Josephine (Czekalski) Cusick.

Surviving are a son, Robert, and his wife, Laura, Ruskin, FL; daughter, Nancy Thomas, and her husband, Jeffrey, Hillsborough, NJ; grandchildren, Bryan Pienta and his wife, Mary, Plymouth; Tracy Cohen, Linwood, NJ; Christopher Pienta, Hatboro; Mary Ann Pienta, Hughsville; great-grandson, Bryan Pienta; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Oct. 31 from Yanaitis Funeral Home, Plains Township, with a Funeral Mass in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains. Interment parish cemetery, Plains.
