Stephanie V. Agati, 92, of West Pittston, died November 3, 2009, in Mercy Center, Dallas. She was the widow of Anthony R. Agati Sr., who passed away in May 1990 after 50 years of marriage.

Born in Pittston on Dec. 1, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Santo Volpe and Dorothea Licata Volpe. She was a graduate of West Pittston High School, class of 1934, and attended Misericordia University.

She was preceded in death by her son, Frank S. Agati; sisters Gaetana Tina Bufalino, Angela Agolino, Alfonsina Saraceno; and brother Santo Volpe Jr.

She is survived by her son, Santo A. Agati; son Anthony R. Agati Jr. and his wife, Betty Mae; grandchildren Stephanie Agati, Joyce Agati Miller and her husband, Thomas, and Anthony J. Agati; great-granddaughter Gianna Miller; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday at 9 a.m. from the Peter J. Adonizio Funeral Home, 802 Susquehanna Avenue, West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Rocco’s R.C. Church, Pittston. Interment Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville. Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
