Stephen Francis Yuhas, 82, of Swoyersville, died November 11, 2009, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Jule McAfee. They celebrated their 58th anniversary in July.
He was a son of the late Stephen and Anna Schlosser Yuhas. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Alderman. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 644, Swoyersville. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Intermetro Industries as a security guard.
He was preceded in death by his brothers John and James.
He is also survived by sons Stephen, Douglasville; and James, Swoyersville; daughter Mary Kay Covert and her husband, Kevin, Dallas; son William and his wife, Josephine, Hughestown; daughter Susan Coulter and her husband, Michael, Swoyersville; daughter Joyce Latosek and her husband, Thomas, Torrington, Conn.; daughter Julie Lampman and her husband, Robert, West Wyoming; grandchildren Kimberly and Karen Yuhas, Kevin and Mark Covert, William, Angela, Stephen and Nicholas Yuhas, Marissa and Michael Coulter, Thomas and Timothy Latosek, and Allison Lampman; and sisters Betty Michaels, Swoyersville, Anna Mae Matory, Richboro, Pa., and Doris Sickler, Malvern.
Funeral was Nov. 14 from the Bednarski Funeral Home, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church, Swoyersville. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
