A couple of Pittston angels in Florida

Pittston’s Joe and Teresa DiLorenzo are pictured here with John Rogers, center, at St. Jude’s Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Florida, where the two locals serve as ushers during their winter stay. Rogers, a former State Trooper from Maryland, is head usher at the parish. He loves to tell the story of how Joe and Teresa came into his life. Desperately in need of ushers, he put his hands together and prayed to God to solve his problem. “I prayed for two ushers,” he likes to say, “and God sent me two angels.” The DiLorenzos usually leave for Florida on Nov. 1 and return to Pittston on May 1. Florida is beautiful, Joe often says, but Pittston is home.
