Community service at its best

Who says community service is a thing of the past?

Little Hughestown Borough proved what a community can accomplish with the renovation of Robert Yaple Park.

With Carmen Ambrosino, better known for his 40 years of work fighting drug and alcohol abuse, chairing the fundraising, the borough collecting plenty of funds to buy much needed new playground equipment. But Ambrosino didn’t stop with raising funds, he also inspired volunteers to contribute “sweat equity” when the new equipment arrived.

Dozens of volunteers turned out to install the equipment and now the kids of Hughestown have a great place to play.

If it ever stops raining.
