Frontier supports YMCA

By Laura Musto Cowher

Frontier Communications employees donated their time last Sunday to help spruce up the interior of the YMCA.

“This is part of an ongoing effort we are making to improve our facility for patrons,” said Brian Fallon, YMCA property manager. “We appreciate the efforts of the Frontier volunteers.”

Twelve volunteers spent the morning at the YMCA painting the facility’s family locker rooms and offices. The effort was made possible through a partnership with Frontier Communications and the United Way’s Workplace Council. The project is one of many for Frontier who launched “The Great Frontier Donate – Let’s Talk Up a Cause” in May.

The project was the second for the YMCA. In May, volunteers painted the interior of the Pittston facility as well as cleaned the gymnasium, wellness center, and spin and aerobics rooms as part of the United Way Day of Caring. Twelve volunteers from John Heinz, the Tobyhanna Army Depot, and the community participated in the event.

Volunteering Sunday were Karen Vanderzee, Jen Brown, Mark Brown, Charlotte Mahavits, Kellie Knesis, Sue and Cliff Kingston, Yvonne Ricotta, Nancy and Matthew Gittens, and Kerrin Irace.
