Grablick’s truck brings back memories

Photographer Bill Tarutis shot this photo recently just to try out his new “Lensbaby.” He describes it as a selective-focus lens that blurs everything except a movable “sweet spot” that you can place anywhere you would like in the frame.

Those over 40 will recognize the subject matter: an old Grablick’s Dairy truck, one of the many that used to traverse the streets of Pittston and surrounding communities back when fresh milk was delivered to doorsteps.

Tarutis has had his eye on it for some time. He says it has been parked along Rt. 315 for as long as he can remember, in between Sheetz and FOX at the entrance to a junkyard near Lispi’s, a little ways before the corner that used to be Torony’s Hot Dogs.

He thought Dispatch readers would enjoy it. We think he is right.
