Personalize your workout

By Laura Musto Cowher

Does your workout plan need a boost? The Greater Pittston YMCA can help!

The YMCA is offering personal training sessions and nutrition classes to help members reach their fitness goals.

“So many people are use to the same workout plan,” said Moriah Tabone, personal trainer. “They need to shock their body.”

Individuals of all ages can benefit from personalized training sessions, she said. Trainers work with members one-on-one to develop a workout plan specifically geared to meet their needs.

“Everyone is different,” said Tabone. “Some want to lose weight while others want to tone up.”

Working with a trainer also helps members to become familiar with the fitness center’s equipment, lower body fat and build cardio strength. Each workout is tailored to fit the individual client.

“Ideally they should get several sessions and an evaluation. If you are going to do it do it right,” said Joe DeMuro, personal trainer. “Then we work to put together a program they can do and will do on their own.”

Nutrition also plays an important role and nutrition sessions are also offered at the YMCA. Members can sign up for one class or a package of sessions with certified fitness nutrition coach, Corrine Kanetski. Sessions are designed to help clients determine their nutrition goals. Sample menus are also given to clients to help them make healthier food choices.
