A Pennsylvania State Historical Marker Dedication was held at the Rocky Glen Amusement Park Site, Rocky Glen Road, Moosic on August 9.

The park which was created in 1886, served as a recreational center for this area until its closing in 1987 and has been and continues to be an integral part of the history of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Together with the Pennsylvania State Historical and Museum Commission, Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority and Lackawanna County Commissioners Mike Washo, Corey O’Brien and A.J. Munchak, many volunteers and supporters, the Lackawanna Historical Society realized the project that culminated in the placement of the marker.
Also attending the event was the granddaughter Ben Sterling who along with wife Mae operated the 210 acre park for 47 years.
In 1924 Sterling worked at the park as a concessionaire. In 1936 Sterling purchased a section of the park eventually acquiring full ownership from E.S. Williams after purchasing the Nallin-Jennings section in 1950.
At the historical marker, left to right, Maureen McGuigan, Lackawanna County Historical Society, Gretchen Sterling Frey, granddaughter of park owner Ben Sterling and County Commissioner, Mike Washo.
