PA Middle School selling bracelets to benefit Kaiden’s Cause

Cara Capozucca and James Castellino, members of our high school national honor society, are currently sponsoring a fundraiser called “Kaiden’s Cause”.

This cause is to benefit the grandson of our very own Mr. and Mrs. Calabrese, who has been stricken with a serious illness.

“Kaiden’s Cause” bracelets are on sale for $3.00, and a Bowl-a-thon will be held today in which proceeds will also benefit Kaiden.

Otis Lennon School Ability Test

Sixth grade students will be taking the Otis Lennon School Ability Test on Tuesday, March 23. The test will be given in the morning. Please be in attendance this day unless excused for illness.

PSSA Reading and Math Assessments

The PSSA Reading and Math Assessments will be held from Wednesday, April 7th through Friday, April 16th. They will be given to all students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. It is of extreme importance that all students attend school on the days of the test unless excused due to serious illness. In addition, students should have a good night’s sleep and a nutritious breakfast on exam days. The school will provide a healthy snack to all students taking the exam.

Easter Break

The Pittston Area Middle School will be closed from April 1st through 5th in observance of the Easter Holiday. The middle school will reopen on Tuesday, April 6th according to the regular schedule.

Dentist Visits Middle School

The District Dentist will be visiting our middle school on Thursday, March 25th to complete the 7th grade dental exams.

Communications Club

MID-TV’s schedule for 3/22 through 3/26: Members of the Blue Team should report to the TV Studio first thing in the morning. All members are reminded to check in with their homeroom teachers prior to reporting to the studio.

Sports and Activities

There will be Spring Chorus practice tomorrow and Wednesday from 3:10 until 4:45 p.m. in the Intermediate Center band room. Students are responsible for their own transportation home and all rides need to be at the Intermediate Center no later than 4:45 p.m. In order to keep our students safe, all parents must pick-up their child at the main entrance to the Intermediate Center. Students will not be allowed to leave the building without the accompaniment of an adult.

The Spring Chorus Concert will be held on Tuesday, March 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.

There will be Full Band practice Wednesday from 9:45 until 11:00 a.m. The spring concert will be held on May 20th at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.
