School pictures will be taken on Tuesday, November 10, 2009. The order form was sent home via the red folder. Please fill out the form and include payment in the envelope and return tot your child’s teacher by Monday, November 9. If your child is absent the day of the pictures, they will be rescheduled for another day. You will be informed of the make-up date.
Parent/Teacher Conferences have been scheduled from November 17 through 20 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. All students will be dismissed early. A conference information sheet will be sent home to all parents via the red folder on Monday, November 2. The sheet includes the specific day and specific time you have been scheduled to meet with your child’s teacher. Please sign and return the slip no later than Monday, November 9. If you must change the day and/or time, please call the school at 654-0503.
There will be no school on Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veteran’s Day
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast is Thursday, November 12. Our cafeteria will be festively decorated and we will celebrate the holiday together as a school family. If possible, we would like the students to purchase this lunch. The menu will feature turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, cranberry sauce, roll, fruit and milk
Friday, November 13 has been designated by our school district as an "Act 80 Day". Students will have early dismissal as follows: Walkers/Car students - 1:05 p.m.; Van/Pink - 1:10 p.m.; All other buses - 1:20 p.m.
Monday November 9 marks the end of the first marking period. Report cards will be distributed during parent/teacher conferences.
Friday November 6 the Pittston Area Football players, cheerleaders and marching band came to the Kindergarten Center for a pep rally. The pep rally was for annual game between Wyoming Area and Pittston Area. The cafeteria was a sea of red, white and blue. Our students cheered and danced in support of our team. It was a great end to spirit week.
The annual Pittston Area Elementary PTO Fall Fundraiser is now complete. You will be notified soon about the pick-up dates and times.
The Kindergarten Center is going to be collecting General Mills Box tops for Education logos. The Kindergarten Center will get 10 cents for each box top we collect. The more we collect, the more cash we earn. Just clip the box top logos from participating General Mills and Betty Crocker products and send them to school with your child.
