Wyoming Area Catholic students bring pets to be blessed

In celebration of the feast of Saint Francis, the first grade students of Wyoming Area Catholic brought in their pets, real and stuffed, to be blest.

Dates to Remember

November 2: PTG meeting at 7:00 p.m.

November 4: Confessions at 9:30 a.m., Grades 3-8

November 5: Pre-K and Kindergarten Vision Screening

November 6: 9:00 a.m., Grade five will lead the school community in prayer.

November 7: Meet and Greet Social, Parents, Faculty and Staff, 7:00 to 10:00 p.m., Wyoming Area Catholic School

Holy Redeemer H.S.

Open House for the High School is scheduled for Sunday November 1 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Tours begin at 1:00 p.m. Formal program will begin at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Tour the school and talk with the administrators, teachers, coaches, parents, students and athletes. Website: www.holyredeemerhs.org.

PTG Meeting

The PTG Meeting scheduled for Monday, November 2 will feature a Special Guest Speaker: Luzerne County District Attorney Jackie Musto Carroll. The District Attorney will speak on Internet Security and safety with children. All parents are invited to come.

Parent, Faculty and Staff Social

A Meet and Greet social for parents, faculty and staff will be held on Saturday, November 7th from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. The social will be held at Wyoming Area Catholic School Cafeteria. Invitations went home last week. Please RSVP by November 2.

Prayer List

In the Catholic Church, it has been a tradition that during the month of November we remember all our loved ones who have passed. At our mass on November 6, the students, faculty and the school community will commemorate our loved ones.

Boy’s Flag Football: Tuesday, November 3 and Thursday, November 5

New York City Trip

The Wyoming Area Catholic School is sponsoring its seventh annual New York City Bus Trip on December 12, 2009. The cost of the trip is $29.00 per person. The price includes transportation, light refreshment, and a subway sub for the ride home. The bus will leave the Midway Shopping Center in Wyoming at 7:00 a.m. and will depart NYC at 7:00 p.m. (light refreshments will be included).

During the trip you are free to do whatever you may wish. A non refundable $10.00 per person deposit is due, and full balance paid by November 20, 2009. Checks should be made out to WACS (Wyoming Area Catholic School) and sent to the school office in an envelope marked “Attention NYC Bus Trip.” There will be no refunds.

Tyson Project A+

Wyoming Area Catholic School is taking part in a national fundraising program sponsored by Tyson Foods, Inc. called Tyson Project A+. All we do to participate is clip and save the entire Project A+ label from participating Tyson Products. Each label we collect is worth .24 for our school. A collection site has been set up at Wyoming Area Catholic where you can drop off your redemption labels.
