PA Class of 1969 holds 40th reunion

Pittston Area Class of 1969 held their 40th anniversary reunion at Gus Genetti’s in Wilkes-Barre. Those in attendance Are pictured.

Petrina "Peggy" Guasto celebrates her 100th birthday today. She is the daughter of the late Francesco and Rose (Provenzano) Guasto of Montedoro, Sicily. Peggy is the oldest of nine siblings, Josephine Genewski and Christina Roxby ,still living, and Mary, Tony, Sam, Jimmy, Frankie and Joe all deceased.

Jenkins Twp. celebrate 50th anniversary

The Jenkins Township Class of 1959 gathered to celebrate their 50th Anniversary at Tribecca Restaurant.

Falls Lions hold fall festival

The Falls Lions club recently held their annual Fall Festival on Oct. 4, 2009 which included a Craft Fair and Chicken Barbecue dinner. Chainsaw Carving Demonstrations were provided by The Sawptician.

PA Class of 1970 meeting

Pittston Area Class of 1970 will hold a reunion meeting on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 p.m. at Ballina’s Irish Pub, 2934 Birney Ave., Minooka Section of Scranton. All classmates are invited to attend.

Senior Center Veteran’s Day special dinner Tuesday

Are you eligible for benefits and don’t know it? RSVP ambassadors will be available at the Pittston Senior Citizens Center by appointment only to check. Millions of older Americans with limited income are eligible for but not receiving benefits from existing federal, state and local programs. Ranging from heating and energy assistance to prescription savings programs to income supplements, there are many public programs available to seniors in need of they only knew about them and how to apply for them.
