Nat’l. Nutrition Day lunch Wednesday at Senior Center

The Hinkle Family, from Decatur, Texas, will be visiting the Pittston Senior Citizens Center on Thursday, March 11, at 12:30 to provide an hour of entertainment. The public is invited to attend.

Penn State Extension will be providing nutrition education classes every Monday in March from 12:30 to 1:30. A delicious dessert sample will be given at each class.

Reservations are now open for a try trip to the Italian Festival at Mt. Haven Resort on Wednesday, June 2. Cost is $58 which includes 2 buffets, four hour open bar, dancing, games, entertainment, motorcoach transportation, and much more. For further information contact Connie Andrews at 655-5561.

Registration is now being taken for beginning computer classes which will be held at the Center on Thursday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to noon. There is no fee but you must be 60 or older.

Lunch menu for the week:

Monday -Baked chicken, parsley boiled potatoes, steamed garlic spinach, whole wheat bread, chocolate sorbet, margarine, milk, coffee

Tuesday -Balsamic chicken, herbed orzo, steamed carrots, whole wheat bread, chunky cinnamon applesauce, margarine, milk and coffee

Wednesday -National Nutrition Day Special - Chicken cordon bleu, twice baked potato, glazed carrots, cheesecake, margarine, milk, coffee

Thursday -Apple cranberry pork chop, mashed sweet potatoes, chilled beets, wheat dinner roll, graham crackers, chilled plums, margarine, milk, coffee

Friday -Spinach pesto stuffed shells, Italian salad w/lite dressing, Italian green beans, Italian Wedding soup, garlic bread, chilled pears, margarine, milk, coffee.
