The hiking club will meet at Frances Slocum State Park on Tuesday, November 3, at 10 a.m., weather permitting. If you would like to join the hiking club, call the Center to register. Nikki Lavenda will lead the hiking group.
Tickets are now on sale at the Greater Pittston Senior Citizens Center for the annual Christmas Party on Sunday, December 13 from 12 to 5 at Jenkins Township Social Club. The cost is $23.

Apprise volunteers will be available by appointment for Medicare recipients to examine different prescription plans to decide whether to stay in present plans or change to a new plan during open enrollment dates of November 15 to December 31, 2009. Call Connie to set up an appointment.
On Wednesday, November 4, Golden Care will provide free blood pressure screenings from 10 a.m. to noon. The public is invited to attend.
On Thursday, November 5, at 11:15 Marywood Nutrition Students will provide a program on incorporating fruits and vegetables into your diet. The public is invited.
Benefits are available in energy assistance, prescription savings programs and income supplements for older Americans with limited income. If you are in need please call to set up an appointment to see if you are eligible, Contact Connie or Hazel at 655-5561.
Senior Citizens Centers, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne and Wyoming counties, offer hot noon meals Monday through Friday to people 60 years of age or older. Donations from participants are gratefully accepted and needed in order to expand this program.
Menu for the week is:
Monday - Baked pork chop, mashed sweet potatoes, chilled red cabbage, bread stuffing, rye bread, tropical fruit salad, margarine, milk and coffee.
Tuesday - Baked whitefish w/ lemon garlic sauce, vegetable soup, orzo pilaf, whole wheat dinner roll, baked apple, margarine, milk and coffee
Wednesday - Stuffed cabbage rolls, garden salad, lite Italian dressing, buttered noodles, whole wheat bread, orange sherbet, margarine, milk and coffee
Thursday - Roast beef w/ thin gravy, mashed potatoes, melba toast, peas and carrots, wheat dinner roll, canned pears, margarine, milk and coffee.
Friday - Lasagna Florentine, chicken rice soup, 2 garlic breadsticks, parmesan cheese, canned plums, margarine, milk and coffee.
