PD Anniversaries

Elizabeth Marranca and Attorney Joseph A. Dessoye were united in the sacrament of marriage Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston, by Father James Alco.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph P. and Marie Marranca, West Pittston. She is the granddaughter of James and Julie Chimento, Pittston and Elizabeth and the late Joseph J. Marranca, West Pittston. The groom is the son of Joseph M. and Rosemary Dessoye, Exeter. He is the grandson of Nancy and the late Joseph Dessoye, Duryea and the late Angelo and Dolores Terrana, Pittston.

The bride was given away in marriage by her father. She chose her sister, Julia Marranca, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Haas and Jodi Boylan, sisters of the groom; Katie Haas, niece of the groom; Shelly Buselli, Amy Sanguedolce and Ann Marie Albert, friends of the bride.

The groom chose his cousins, Jim Dessoye and John Grimes, as his best men. Groomsmen were Joseph Marranca, brother of the bride; RJ Haas, nephew of the groom; Rick Joseph, A.J. Sanguedolce Patrick O’Boyle and Rex Watson, friends of the groom. Flower girls were Julia Emmett, cousin of the bride and Madeline Boylan, niece of the groom. Ring bearer was Alex Haas, nephew of the groom. Readings were given by Joseph J. Terrana, uncle of the groom, and R.J. Emmett, cousin of the bride.

A bridal shower was hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom at Fox Hill Country Club, Exeter. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Jad’s Place, Pittston.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Penn State in 2004. She is employed as a first grade teacher in the Wyoming Area School District.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Pittston Area High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in History from Penn State in 2002 and a Juris Doctor degree from Thomas J. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Michigan in 2005. He is a practicing attorney with Terrana Law P.C., Kingston.

Following a honeymoon to Riviera Maya, Mexico, the couple reside in Exeter.
