Exeter’s Mozal selected for Temple Law Review

Nick Mozal of Exeter has been notified that he has been selected for Temple Law Review, Beasley School of Law Temple University. Temple Law Review is a student-edited scholarly journal that publishes four issues per year with a circulation of approximately 1,500 copies per issue. The Law Review staff is dedicated to providing a forum for the expression of new legal thought and scholarly commentary on important developments, trends, and issues in the law.

Erica Bezdziecki

Nick is a 2004 honor graduate of Wyoming Area and a 2008 honor graduate of Bucknell University. He is currently interning for the US District Court for the Middle District of PA under the Honorable Thomas Vanaskie, US District Judge, Scranton. He will enter his second year at the Beasley School of Law in the fall.

Erica Bezdziecki is a graduate of Pittston Area’s Class of 2009. Erica is going to attend Luzerne County Community College. She plans on transferring to Bloomsburg University to pursue a degree in elementary education.

Belated Birthday-

Happy belated 17th birthday to Joseph F. Coyne V of Duryea.

Anniversary Wishes-

Bob and Theresa Ryzner of Duryea will celebrate on August 13.

1st in Math Competition-

Colby O. Morgan, son and grandson of Greater Pittston natives Chuck and Cathy Morgan and Charlie and Genevieve Morgan, was again awarded first place in the Continental Mathematics Competition at Wilkes-Barre Academy for 8th grade. Students participated in competition with other students on their same grade level across the United States. Colby has consecutively attained first place throughout his WB Academy career. He was also again awarded the Presidents Award for Educational Excellence presented for Outstanding Academic Excellence this year by Pres. Barack Obama. He was previously cited by Pres. George Bush.

He was also recognized by the United States Achievement Academy as a 2008 National Honor Student Award Winner and he graduated from WB Academy Class of 2008 with honors. He was extremely honored to receive the 2008 Algebra Excellence Award from WB Academy and was also honored at graduation, which was held at Newberry Estates, Dallas for his continual honor roll attainment. His yearly Algebra average was over 98%. Colby was honored by John Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth every year 2nd – 8th grade and invited to participate in advance courses. To be considered he had to achieve advance levels on state tests and achieve 95% or higher on nationally normed standardized tests.

Colby was selected to be a member of the Science Olympiad Team which competed at Penn State, Lehman Campus in rigorous scientific events. He medaled at Science Crime Busters and Experimental Design, first and fourth place.

Colby was also extremely honored to be recruited by Scranton Preparatory School to join the class of 2013. He was identified by Scranton Prep as a highly competent and talented student. He was named an Ignatian Scholar by Prep for his superior achievements on the Scranton Prep Entrance Exam. He was cited as a high scorer on the exam, finishing in the top 30. More than 400 students from 50 schools took the exam.

Colby has a brother Chucky who will be a junior this fall at Scranton Prep. Colby will attend Scranton Prep this fall.
