Grabiec awarded Gold Cup Trophy at piano event

Gregory John Grabiec, son of Atty. and Mrs. Sherwood P. Grabiec, Avoca, was awarded his second Gold Cup Trophy for receiving six Superior Ratings in the Piano Solo Event sponsored by the National Federation of Music Clubs Festival Cup held at Marywood University, Scranton. In April 2007, Gregory performed at Carnegie Hall, New York City.

(Semper Fi Jim) Also happy birthday wishes go out to Brian Dillon, (CPA) Jim’s nephew, a former resident of Inkerman, Jenkins Township and now living in West Chester, PA will have his big day on Sunday, July 26.

Kristy and Bill Vassell of Moosic announce the birth of their son, William John IV on July 9 at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center announces newborns

A boy was born to Diana Kennedy and Jermaine Crosby of Plains on July 10.

Cousins Graduate-

Jessica Lynn Krawczyk daughter of Kevin and Kathy Krawczyk graduated honors with distinction from Pittston Area High School. Jessica will be attending University of Pittsburgh in the fall.

Michael John Pearce son of Barry and Barbara Pearce graduated from Bellefonte Area High School. He will be attending the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Lancaster.

Jessica and Michael are the grandchildren of Peter and Mary Ann Jadus, Avoca. Jessica is also the granddaughter of Tony and Cathy Krawczyk, Taylor. A party was held in their honor.

Dean’s List-

Jennifer Kelly of Duryea was recently recognized on the Dean’s List from Marywood University with a 3.9 grade point average for the spring semester. Jennifer was named on the Dean’s List every semester while attending Marywood. Jennifer is entering her senior year this fall majoring in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She is the daughter of Walter and Beth Kelly and the mother of 18 month old Madison Mae Kelly, all of Duryea.

Recent Grad-

Frank Paul Sabatini of Exeter graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Frank earned an A.B. in English summa cum laude, at the College’s 174th commencement on Saturday, May 23. Frank also made the dean’s list for the spring semester.

Diocesan Scholar-

Mary Theresa Condosta, a Junior at Scranton Prep, has been notified that she has been accepted as a Diocesan Scholar to attend Marywood University for the Summer 2009 Session. This prestigious program is offered only to seniors or second semester juniors in Catholic high schools who have demonstrated maturity of character, academic excellence, and leadership potential.

Mary resides with her parents, James and Maureen Condosta, in Exeter.
