Misericordia students sweep competition

Three senior Misericordia University medical imaging students recently swept the top three awards for their poster presentations at the Pennsylvania Society of Radiologic Technologists conference in Washington, PA.

The annual conference is designed for students to explore a real-world issue regarding medical imaging and the radiation sciences profession through poster and abstract presentations. Thirty-seven students entered the poster competition and Misericordia’s students earned the top three cumulative scores. Scoring is based on research quality and objectives, overall appearance, layout, graphic and text balance, organization flow, citations, writing and grammar and spelling.

Ashley Rosenbaum of Forty Fort earned first place with her presentation, “Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy.” Toby Soward of Scranton placed second with “Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy Imaging.” Third place was awarded to Matt McDade of Pittston who presented “Computed Tomography Autopsy.”
