Frank and Pat Yurko of Harding, announce the engagement of their daughter Christie, to Daniel Slagus, son of the late John and June Slagus, Scranton.

The bride to be is the granddaughter of the late Frank and Helen Yurko, and Joseph and Rose Gayton of Wyoming. She is a 1991 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and a 1998 graduate of Wilkes University with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. She is currently employed as a registered nurse at Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton.

The prospective bridegroom is a 1989 graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He is currently employed by the Fastenal Company, Jessup.

The couple will exchange vows October 10, 2009 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, West Pittston.
