Kara Narvid and Michael Corbett, together with their parents, announce their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of James and Mary Narvid, Pittston. She is the granddaughter of Dolores Melvin and the late John Melvin and Dominick Chiampi, the late Angela Narvid Chiampi and the late Anthony Narvid, Pittston. Kara is a 2000 graduate of Seton Catholic High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Special Education from East Stroudsburg University in 2004. She earned a Master’s degree in Reading Education from East Stroudsburg University in 2008. She is a learning support teacher at Pittston Area Senior High School.

The prospective groom is the son of William and the late Regina Corbett, Avoca. He is the grandson of the late William and Ethel Corbett and the late John (Jake) and Nancy Robbins, Avoca. Michael is a 2000 graduate of Seton Catholic High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Scranton. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Scranton. He is employed at Autism Behavioral Service, West Pittston.

The couple will exchange vows on July 18, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston.
