Mr. and Mrs. John Jamieson, Pittston announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie to Francisco Sebastian Castro, son of Francisco Sebastian Torres and Maria Teresa Castro Martin Madrid, Spain.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Clement and Mary Bowman and John and Sarah Jamieson, all of Pittston. She is a 1997 graduate of Scranton Preparatory High School; a 2001 graduate of Penn State University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both psychology and Spanish; and a 2007 graduate of Middlebury College Language Schools with a Master’s in Spanish language and culture. She is currently employed as a bilingual English teacher at Colegio Ciudad de Roma, Madrid, Spain.

The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Colegio Sagrado Corazon, Madrid; a 2001 graduate of Autonomous University of Madrid with a Bachelor of Science degree in business management; a 2003 graduate of the Complutense University of Madrid with a Bachelor of Science degree in actuarial science. He is currently employed as a national expert in financial affair for the European Union Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
