The Roman Catholic Parishes of the Pittston Cluster (Our Lady of Mt. Carmel/St. Rocco’s, Blessed Sacrament/St. Mary’s and St. John the Evangelist) are seeking to form one combined youth group from the local area. Young adults from age 12 and over are welcome to join the Pittston Catholic Youth Group.
It is hoped that the youth will gather weekly at the Oblates of St. Joseph Seminary, Route 315, Laflin, under the direction of Father Paul McDonnell, OSJ, seminary rector.
There will be a special youth gathering to kick-off the idea this Thursday evening, August 27, at 7:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Oblates Seminary.
The interested young people will be treated to an outdoor picnic and bonfire in order to obtain more information and better understand the purpose of this newly formed group.
The pastors and adult leaders are hoping that the young people will be actively involved in spiritual, social and educational activities throughout the coming school year. If any parent or young adult has a question or concern, please call Fr. Paul at 654-7542 or e-mail him at osjseminary@comcast.net
