On Tuesday, July 28, there will be a prayer hour for Liam Schulze at St. Mary’s Church in Avoca on Hawthorne St. It will begin at 7:00 p.m. Also at St. Mary’s on Wednesday, July 29 at 6:45 p.m., there will be a Rosary offered for Liam and the Mass to follow at 7:00 p.m. will offer prayers for him.
Liam is the son of Chris and Michelle “Shelley” Slezak-Schulze.
Shelley is a 1996 graduate of Pittston Area and a 2001 graduate of Misercordia. Liam’s grandmother is Rose Ann Podminick.
Liam has been diagnosed with Hemopagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis or HLH, which is a rare blood disorder and is fatal if untreated.
Liam has already begun chemotherapy and is in Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital. He will have surgery on Thursday, July 30.
The church would like to have as many people as possible come to these two events to show support for Liam.
