Dawn E. Harris and Carmen J. Alu, both of White Plains, NY, were united in marriage Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 1 p.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Church, Scranton by Father Francis Pauselli. The bride is the daughter of the late Sandra Jean Morina, Hawley, Pa. The groom is the son of Frank and JoAnn Alu, Scranton.

The bride chose her friend Tanina Besecker of Harrisburg as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Maria Alu, Scranton, sister of the groom; Tiffany Harris, Scranton, sister-in-law of the bride; Kelly Holiday, Hawley, Christina Gnall, Old Forge; Mary Bonsu, Montreal, Canada; all friends of the bride and Rachel Rende, Pompton Lakes, New Jersey friend of the bride and groom. Flower girl was Ariana Harris of Scranton, niece of the bride. The groom chose his brother Vincent Alu, Scranton as best man. Groomsmen were Mark Harris, Scranton, brother of the bride; Brendan Carr, New York, NY; Liam O’Donovan, Valhalla, NY; Frank Munafo, Denver, Colorado; Sidney Harrison, Scranton; all friends of the groom and Michael Vaccaro, Pompton Lakes, NJ, friend of the bride and groom. Ring bearer was Gianni Harris, Scranton, nephew of the bride. A wedding reception was held at Colarusso’s LaPalazzo, Moosic, PA.
The bride earned a Bachelor’s degree in Financial services from Penn State and is pursuing a second Bachelor’s degree online in Interior Architecture and Design from the Academy of Art University. The groom earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from Marist College, and is pursuing an MBA in Management from Fordham University. He is employed by IBM as a Compensation Program Manager.
After a trip to Rome and Positano, Italy the couple resides in Raleigh, North Carolina.
